Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar has constituted a two-member committee to resolve the controversy over giving the name of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale the monument recently erected to Operation Bluestar. Makkar on Monday reported that two members of the commission were head granthi of Golden Temple Giani Mal Singh and Rajinder SinghMehta executive body of SGPC member.
According to reports, some SGPC employees tried to remove the tables outside monument the following Sunday there was an argument between them and followers Damdami Taksal. While denying that any employee SGPC had taken the plate, Makkar said some employees had gone to remove the temporary flexible banners displayed during the unveiling of the monument, which led to confusion.
