New Delhi: The truth about the death on Thursday Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh in Pakistan must leave, said Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who added: "Centre is unable to give a strong response to Pakistan's inhuman acts".
"Both the Government of India and the Government of Pakistan have misled people about Sarabjit Singh. The truth of the matter has to go", Narendra Modi tweeted, hours after Sarabjit Singh died in a hospital in Lahore where was admitted April 26 after being brutally assaulted by other inmates.
A minute earlier, Modi tweeted, "Sarabjit Singh's death is very sad. May his soul rest in peace. May God give strength to his family to bear this loss."
He also tweeted: "Center is able to give a strong response to Pakistan's inhuman acts. Beheading of our soldiers and now the death of Sarabjit are two recent examples."
Pakistani troops had intruded on January 8 India in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, killed two Indians and one of them beheaded.
