Chandigarh April 23:
The Punjab Government today approved Rs.74.11 lac to improve the infrastructure of ITI, Ranjit Avenue Amritsar with art machinery to provide vocational training to the students of the borderlands.
Disclosing this here today Mr. Anil Joshi, Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister, Punjab, said that this grant will go towards the purchase of art machinery to provide vocational training in accordance with the changing needs of the industry. He said the focus of training students in modern appliances was to increase their employability in the industry in the new economy.
Mr. Joshi said the hospitality and tourism courses have also been started in the ITI, Amritsar and separate building was under construction. Mr. Joshi also directed the technical education department to provide education to students with ultramodern techniques and ensure the placement of students. He also said that with the increasing demand of industry efforts should be made to start boiler operator, operator transcryption STD and medical courses in the ITI.
