In a major relief to private developers in Haryana, the state cabinet
on Thursday allowed industrial colonies licenses subsidies to special
economic zones, which could not take off in the state. Developers of about two dozen SEZs, most of them in the Gurgaon district will benefit from the measure of state government. Under the new policy, 15% land can be developed as residential areas, 45% of industrial units and 5% for commercial use. The remaining 35% will be left for roads, infrastructure and utilities, and open space.
This follows the recommendations of a panel established to consider and propose alternative land uses, locked in notified special economic zones (SEZs) and the revision of the policy on licensing of industrial colonies. According to a senior official of industries department, initially Haryana had received expressions of interest from 100 SEZs, but only 37 of them were finally notified by the Union government.
Two special economic zones were notified after notice and 29 SEZs failed to take off, he said. Just been established four special economic zones and work on two special economic zones is still ongoing, he added.
According to the cabinet decision, notified special economic zones with land measuring 50 acres (20 hectares) and up and located in areas of land use "non-residential" may be given the option to apply for "colony license industry. "
Promoters can also develop their land in the town or city cyber technology after receiving government approval. Those who make use of alternative dispensing will have to get special economic zone notified the government-competent, if not already notified.
Developers will need to complete the infrastructure facilities and assign at least one third of the industrial layout in relation to industrial land use, before granting authorization to occupy the facilities created for residential or commercial use.
