Days after fake degree certificate racket was arrested in the city,
another scam forged admit cards and impersonation, the participation of
foreign students has come to light.
In case, the police arrested three Afghan students courses Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Government University graduate in Sector 11, by deception and impersonation.
The arrested accused were identified as Ahmed Mir, 22 and Safaullaj, 22 - both students of BA-II - and Mujeed-ur-Rehman, 23, a student of BA-III. Another accomplice managed to flee the examination center. The police informed the Afghan embassy in New Delhi about the arrest.
Afghan students were arrested in the case of theft and booked under various sections of the IPC. Police recovered fake exams admit cards from their possession. "Mir Ahmed was caught while writing the political science test BA-II in place of Safaullah. Both defendants reside in the university hostel and had reached an agreement for a few thousand rupees," Gurmukh Singh house the official station of Sector 11 police station, told TOI.
"During Tuesday's test examination center, the accused student, who was taking the exam for Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, we come to know about the attack and fled leaving the false back admit card. Nevertheless, we stop the beneficiary Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, "added Singh.
Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, who lives in a housing payment in Sector 15, told police he had given Rs 5,000 to his friend to try the test instead. The police are investigating the case to support its claim.
The three accused have been sent to judicial custody by the court. They have been booked under section 420 (cheating) and 419 (punishment for cheating by personating) of the Indian Penal Code.
Police said they suspected the involvement of more defendants in this business and are trying to figure out where these students receive fake admit cards. Police said they also question the university staff.
