Mohali: just 10 days after the arrest of three young men of the heroin sold in the city, two youths, including a hotel management student with main technical education institute near Landran in Mohali were arrested for smuggling opium for the Tuesday. A package containing 1 kg of opium, which is being taken from Ganganagar in Rajasthan, was recovered from the possession of the two youths. The accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh, 20, who is making his hotel management course and 19 years old Gursewak Singh.
Gursewak a V passout class with Gurpreet live in rented accommodation in the village of Kumbra near Kharar. The duo was arrested from near the railway station Kharar. Gurpreet belongs to Fazilka while Gursewak belongs to Faridkot. Kharar SHO of the police station, inspector Vijay Kumar said during interrogation, both the accused confessed opium acquired at cheap prices from Rajasthan. The shipment was intended for supply to consumers at higher prices. Sources said Gurpreet opium used to provide other students.
