The chairman of Tata Sons Cyrus P Mistry Limited today called on Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal here at his official residence. Accompanied by Madhu Khana, the Group Head-Business Development of Tata Sons Limited, Mistry was on his inaugural tour of the state had a detailed meeting with the Chief Minister regarding the outlook for business investment in the state.
Disclosing this today, a spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office said that during the meeting Badal informed him that due to growth-oriented policies of the state government, the Punjab was being considered as the most preferred investment destination in the country. He said the state had contributed immensely in various sectors including food grain production, industry and, especially, in the armed forces for security and development. The Minister offered to start TI certain joint ventures, vocational training, agriculture and state government infrastructure.
Speaking about the unprecedented infrastructure development carried out by the SAD-BJP government, Badal said his government planned projects of billions of rupees to ensure the water supply and sewerage 100% people in the state and offered the company Tata to offer a helping hand in terms of technology and knowledge to the state government to carry out this task modern. Dwelling on the need for the optimal use of solar energy in the agriculture sector, the Chief Minister Punjab Mistry had the largest irrigation canal system and space through these channels could be used successfully to establish power units Sun reported. In response to the issues raised by the Chief Minister, Mistry said the Tata Group was eager to start any new venture in Punjab. A team of experts from the company will soon visit to explore the possibilities and potential for the creation of new businesses in the state, said the President. He also expressed great interest in the establishment of a new plant for heavy commercial vehicles. He noted that the company also seek help from government strengthing the Tata Group's existing infrastructure in dire need state.Expressing skill development, Mistry said his team also consider all aspects to create a new training and Center Development in the state of strengthing the skilled manpower for industry and the agricultural sector, in collaboration with the state government.
The Chairman of Tata Group of Companies accepted the proposal discussed by the Prime Minister and said they were looking to take out all the database information to improve the agricultural sector in Punjab as his was most farmers were unaware to solve problems and Tata agriculture company wishes to establish a model in the state to provide effective and timely assistance to farmers.
On occasion, Badal presented a replica of the Golden Temple, one Siropa (robe of honor) and a sword to Mistry.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Chief Secretary Rakesh Singh, Principal Secretary to CM SK Sandhu, Special Principal Secretary RV Cheema, Principal Secretary Industry Karan Avtar Singh and Vikas Partap Singh Industry Director.
