Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today approved the budget of Rs 71.76 million rupees for the construction of the project of state-of-the-art Virasat-e-Khalsa Phase II to display and preserve the glorious history of the Sikhs to the Independence day after our future generations.
Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the Prime Minister's office said that Badal was presiding over the meeting of Anandpur Sahib Foundation Trust here in the Prime Minister's residence this morning. The Prime Minister directed the finance department to release the funds in accordance with the funding schedule for completion of the second phase project in a time bound manner.
The Prime Minister also directed the Anandpur Sahib Foundation to spare a piece of land 5 acres for the next report - Baba Jiwan Singh Yadgar in Sri Anandpur Sahib.In another important decision, Mr. Badal asked the competent authorities to prepare a plan integral to creating a power unit with a capacity Solar power generation sufficient to meet the current need of Virasat-e-Khalsa.
The Prime Minister also gave in principal approval for the installation of a Laser Show and asked the department to prepare a detailed plan about as well as a parking lot to the flow line of vehicles parking near Virasat-e-Khalsa. Badal also reviewed the design of Phase II of Virasat-e-Khalsa, which was approved by the Concept Committee comprising eminent Sikh scholars and historians.It was reported at the meeting that Virasat-e-Khalsa phase I (to Gallery no. 14) which had been completed at a cost of Rs. Rs 250.52 million, while the work on Phase II of the Gallery 15 and 27 will be completed in October 2014.
