Kochars' Chocolate no more

LUDHIANA: Happiness of Kochars proved short-lived as their pet dog, Chocolate, which was recently stolen and later recovered, died of liver failure on Sunday. The dog was diagnosed with liver infection on April 23 three days after it was found.
The family, which was very attached to the golden retriever, went into mourning after the loss.

"I am very disturbed as I have lost my Chocolate forever. I was so happy that it had come back to me, but I never knew that this happiness was for a short period. It was not well and I thought that it was probably lack of care during his missing days that had resulted into this ailment. But then doctors told me that he was suffering from liver infection," said dog owner Anjuman Kochar, a resident of Model Gram, who was inconsolable.

The condition of Chocolate kept deteriorating. The family consulted many vets but they confirmed that it was a case of liver failure. "The dog was in pain and was puking all the time. I could not sleep for many nights. I was very certain and even the doctors told me that he would make it, but that was not to be," said Anjuman.

Anjuman informed that she has planned to organise special prayers in her room where Chocolate spent its last days. "Pets are like family members and it is really painful to loose them. Chocolate was a very docile pet. When we found the dog, we received hundreds of messages from friends congratulating the family. Some even said that I was very lucky to find the dog back," she added
