'Active TB case finding campaign' begins today
The officials of the health department are all set to launch "Active TB case finding campaign" from Monday under which the teams of the health department will visit door-to- door to fine new tuberculosis patients under the National TB Eradication Programme. The campaign will continue till March 3. Sputum samples of suspected patients will be taken on the spot and their treatment will start after confirmation of TB, said health officials. District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO) and Additional CMO Dr AK Tiwari told TOI, "As many as 64 teams have been assigned the task to take up campaign across the district who would find out TB patients under the active tuberculosis search (ACF) campaign starting from Monday. These teams will search for TB patients from their houses in villages, blocks and mohallahs."
