Ensure The Release Of Indian Innocent , Says Badals Centers

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today asked the Centre to make concerted efforts to ensure the prompt release of all innocent Indian prisoners languishing in foreign jails, especially in Pakistan.
The Centre should take advantage of all diplomatic channels to secure the early release of Indian prisoners innocent so they can meet their families, the Prime Minister said while talking to reporters after attending the funeral of Sarabjit Singh, who was brutally killed in a Pakistani jail. The government should raise the issue in international forums and with the countries concerned, so innocent prisoners can return. Expressing grief over the death of Sarabjit Singh Sarabjit Singh Badal said was a true national martyr and added that the state government will take all measures to ensure their family welfare.
Reiterating that the country must know the exact cause of death of Sarabjit, said the Centre should increase the pressure for the case to be investigated by an impartial international body. In response to another question, the Prime Minister said categorically, the state government is committed to ensure the safety and protection of Pakistani prisoners lodged in jails in Punjab, adding that he had asked the Director General of Police (DGP prisons ) to enhance the safety of these prisoners to prevent any untoward incident.
