Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today reviewed the progress of Rs 250 Sikh Tourism Development Plan-Circuit crore, which is being developed important Sikh religious places in the state. Badal, who presided over a high level meeting of the Tourism Department was informed about the project by the Chief Secretary of Tourism Geetika Kalha.
The Prime Minister said that under the plan from several sites of historical significance such as Amritsar, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sultanpur Lodhi, Chappar Chiri, Chamkaur Sahib will develop a consistent theme to promote tourism Sikh showcasing the rich cultural heritage of religion.
Under this plan, much of the amount will be used to develop the environment and preserve Golden Temple Gobindgarh Fort besides establishing different interpretation centers, centers of art and culture in various places in Anandpur Sahib, Damdama Sahib, Sultanpur Lodhi and Dera Baba Nanak to perpetuate the rich heritage of Sikhism among young people, Kalha said Badal.
