ROHTAK: Enraged the shooting dead of a young class X, some angry villagers ransacked the house of the accused, while fire to three vehicles parked outside in Meham district town Sunday afternoon.
Nitin Singh (15) was killed by four young men - all of them children - in a religious function in his village on Saturday night. The sources said that one of them is a partner of the victim, two are studying in different schools and the fourth to 6th class dropout.
Police said the main accused Nitin function called around midnight. The defendant was accompanied by three young men. After a while, a fight broke out between the victim and perpetrator. Young grabbed him while the main accused shot him from close range with a pistol countrymade.
The assailants fled leaving the victim in a pool of blood. Nitin died on the spot. His body was seen by some people as they left the function.
The incident shocked over the village. The villagers cremated
Nitin's body Sunday night. Upon returning from the cremation, a group of about 50 angry people stormed the house of the main accused and sacked. They also set fire to a car and a motorcycle.
Family members, however, were locked inside the house and informed the police about the incident. Meham DSP Prithvi Singh said police immediately rushed to the spot and controlled the situation gets ugly. The fire department also came to the house and extinguished the flames.
The DSP said all four defendants had been arrested and the investigation has begun. He said police would also take measures in the incident of the attack on the house and was waiting for a formal complaint.
