Punjab
School Education Board discussed various aspects to improve its
textbooks of English, Punjabi and Hindi on the second day of its
workshop on textbooks revision on Wednesday. Board chairperson Tejinder
Kaur Dhaliwal reiterated her resolve to bring much needed changes in the
text books.
Dhaliwal
appealed to the experts and academicians to bring short comings of text
books to the notice of board authorities so that better educative
material may be provided to the students.
Punjabi
language expert Rama Ratan said that our aim must be to help student
learn from each page of the book. Karnail Singh Somal expected
possibility of up lift ment of society through language text books only.
English language expert Tarsem Bahia also spoke about the need of
teachers manual along with text books so that purpose of each book may
be made clear. Hindi language experts Harmohinder Singh Bedi and Sunil
Behal spoke about the need to teach the culture of state in languages.
In
2010, Nikhil, who was BJP's nominee for the Legislative Council from
Jalgaon local self-government constituency, had lost the election
despite BJP and ally Shiv Sena having adequate numbers.
