The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today said Punjab would be the first state in the country to introduce online via VAT refund system for fast automatic traders and manufacturers that comply with good track record.
Speaking to a delegation of businessmen from Ludhiana who called today to press for their demand for electricity duty to the industrial sector Vatable, Mr. Badal said that his single point agenda of Excise and Taxation Department was to make the system transparent and customer friendly, so the interaction between the operator and the Excise and Taxation Department could be eliminated.
He said that within six months, the entire department would be without paper and in June this year the department completed the categorization exercise VAT dealers in A, B and C category. He said that a category auto dealers would meet top class history and will be eligible for a refund of VAT automatic fast track. He said that for category B would be returned as quickly as possible and for category C certain VAT refund checks will be incorporated to make repayments.
