MLA ANTIQUE KEETU MURDER: Main accused arrested in DERA BASSI

The Barnala police on Monday arrested two persons, including the main accused in the murder of former Akali deputy Barnala, Malkeet Singh Keetu, six months after the crime.
The Jaspreet Singh Keetu nephew and another defendant Rashpal Jassa Singh were arrested from Dera Bassi, after an exchange of fire between them and a special police team Barnala. Acting on a tip-off, a team of Barnala and Dera Bassi police raided the hideout of Jaspreet, who had been at large since the murder of Keetu.
SSP Barnala Snehdeep Sharma revealed that both the accused opened fire on the police, who returned fire, in which one of the bullets hit the leg.Both Rashpal defendants seized and trapped by the police.Rashpal is admitted Dera Bassi to a hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
The arrested accused will be delivered to the Barnala police after interrogation in the police station in Dera Bassi completed.Jaspreet Moga wanted by police in the murder of Keetu also faces charged under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code , and Weapon Law in police stations and Rurke Mehal Kalan in Barnala. Police also recovered a drill-time gun Barnala MLA possession.Two 0.32, Keetu was killed October 29 last year outside his home in the village of Bilaspur, Moga district by three of his nephews, Gurpreet Singh, Harpreet Singh and Jaspreet Singh.
Gurpreet and Harpreet have already been arrested in November last year, while another co-defendant Angrej Singh alias Kala, a resident of the village of Barnala Deepgath was arrested earlier this month. The police had arrested Gurpreet and Harpreet of Badni Kalan and villages of Bilaspur district Moga on November 6 and November 21, respectively. Another co-defendant in the case, Angrej Singh alias Kala, a resident of the village of Barnala district Deepgarh, was arrested at a bus stop in Himmatpura village of Moga, April 7.
